报告摘要:
Hydrogen bond is critical to this planet and mankind with its attribute and functionality remaining elusive. We show a three-body system to feature interaction between an atomic dipole X: and a molecular dipole R-Y, coupled by the X::Y repulsion, such as O:H-O bond for water irregularities. The O: can be replaced by a undercoordinated metallic dipole such as Rh:H-O for monatomic catalysis. Charge polarity inversion happens such as Cu-O:Cu for oxidation. Upon perturbation, the X:R-Y relaxes cooperatively its segmental length, energy, vibration frequency, and specific heat associated with polarization. This premise specifies a parameter space that features adequately the bonding and electronic dynamics in the frequency-space-time domains and the functional dependency of detectable properties for any substance involving X:R-Y interaction. This notion has insofar reconciled water irregularities, hydration interfaces, CHNO assemblies, and oxygen chemisorption, which inspires promising ways of thinking about atomistic catalysis, high-TC superconductivity, and beyond.

东莞理工学院校长特聘教授。澳洲墨多克大学1997年物理学博士,曾任职于南洋理工大学和天津大学,并获聘吉林大学唐敖庆讲座教授和浙江省千人计划学者。主攻超常配位键工程与非键电子学,发展了化学键受激弛豫、耦合氢键振子对、水合反应电荷注入等理论,拥有多项电子声子微扰谱学专利。著有双语《键合弛豫》、《氢键规则》、《水合反应》和《计量谱学》,其中两部入选全球有史以来第三和第七最佳物理化学专著。
